September 11

Homework

  • Writing Minutes
  • Humorous Essay
    • Use your humor elements (Incongruity, Superiority, and Relief)
    • Try to hand it in by next week.  BUT next week’s assignment will be shorter, so if you need extra time, it will be available.  Don’t use more than two weeks, though, or you’ll begin to fall behind!
    • While you’ll only receive one grade (the 6-trait), you still need to include dress-ups and openers…for now.  Use the checklist below to help you.  Lydia, Nate, and Tessa, you three only need to have the first three dress-ups (strong verb, quality adjective, and adverb) in each paragraph.

Checklist 4-3

  • Your mystery.  Choose a crime.  Think about why and how it was committed.  Begin thinking about and creating characters.  We’ll spend more time on this next week!
